About the General exam
How hard is the General exam?
Harder than Technician, mostly because it goes deeper on HF propagation, antennas and operating procedure. Most people who already hold Technician pass after a few weeks of steady practice.
Do I need Morse code?
No. The FCC dropped the Morse code requirement for all license classes in 2007.
What can I do with a General license?
General grants privileges on large portions of every HF band, which is what you need for long-distance and international contacts.
